As companies adapt to the new remote working environment, many organizations face a business need for better enterprise-wide sponsored collaboration technologies and to meet this need, many companies are accelerating the adoption of Microsoft Office 365 (M365) including Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams.
M365, and Teams in particular, consists of highly-complex, transformative technology that raises legal and regulatory challenges. And, while M365 offers new, data-centric tools to maximize productivity and utility in a remote working environment, the M365 tools have a litany of new features and functions that generate large amounts of new data types, which need to be analyzed and assessed for legal and regulatory risk.
Depending on the risk profile and tolerance of a company, a balance needs to be established between the business need for these innovative tools, the legal/regulatory risk associated with their use, and the ability to implement strategies to mitigate that risk.
Reed Smith, in partnership with Lighthouse, is launching our M365 in 5 podcast series. This series provides quick and digestible insights into the core elements of M365 and key operational and legal considerations. Listen below to the first episode of our Foundation Series.
