Beyond MLETR and eBLs

As the year closes with news about TradeLens, and everyone tots up the countries signed up to MLETR, comments from UNICTRAL about a new working group of a negotiable multimodal transport document should pique interest by landlocked countries and supply chains through land and rail routes. Building on the work for electronic transferable records, the new type of document is envisaged to be modality-neutral and will cover unimodal and multimodal  carriage of goods, with or without a sea leg.

UNCITRAL is starting work on a new project, on a legal instrument on negotiable multimodal transport documents, that will build significantly on MLETR
