Seeking Advice: Advancing Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through Government

The Federal Government is seeking the public's input to better advance equity and support historically underserved communities as part of President Biden's  initiative to overhaul government services and root out discrimination. On May 5, 2021, the Office of Management and Budget issued a request for information (RFI) seeking input from members of the public and private sector, advocacy groups, nonprofit organizations and others. The information requested will aid federal agencies as they examine the current state of equity within their organizations and build equity action plans to remove identified barriers that are impacting policies, programs, services, processes, and operations.

If you are interested in contributing your thoughts, recommendations and perspectives, you must do so July 6, 2021 via the Federal eRulemaking Portal at https://www.regulations.gov/.

...agencies are directed to consult with members of communities that have been historically underrepresented in the Federal Government and underserved by, or subject to discrimination in, Federal policies and programs, and to evaluate opportunities, as allowable, to increase coordination, communication, and engagement with community-based and civil rights organizations.
