While Sundar Pichai, Google's boss, has previously described developments in AI as 'more profound than fire or electricity', some of the initial enthusiasm for AI is stalling - and the latest issue of The Economist investigates why. Perhaps, this provides policy-makers with more time to get the basics of AI regulation right.
