UK Government steps in to help film & TV producers

Great news for the British film & TV industries as the government announces a £500m "Production Restart Scheme" to assist with additional Coronavirus-related costs. Inadequate production insurance has been a serious hurdle for most production companies during the pandemic, so the hope is that this scheme can help reapportion some of the risk and make production budgets more viable again - assuming there isn't too much red tape involved.

The Film & TV Production Restart Scheme will be available to compensate productions after they have restarted, and only where costs are then incurred due to delays or abandonment as a result of Coronavirus
