D(SA)-Day for VLOPs and VLOSEs

All designated VLOPs and VLOSEs (see list below) now have 4 months to comply with the full set of obligations under the Digital Services Act, if not already compliant, and report to the Commission, their first annual risk assessment. Consumers and users can look forward to: 1. more user empowerment; 2. stronger protection of minors; 3. more diligent content moderation, less disinformation; and 4. more transparency and accountability.

Today, the Commission adopted the first designation decisions under the Digital Services Act (DSA), designating 17 Very Large Online Platforms (VLOPs) and 2 Very Large Online Search Engines (VLOSEs) that reach at least 45 million monthly active users.
