Real fears

As Shelly Palmer reports in one of his latest articles, the immediate technology threat facing us is not AI.  While the debate over AI is worthy, it has taken our attention away from solving a myriad of other threats to our well being that are actively influencing consumers and negatively impacting our daily lives.  Things like the manipulation of individual choices and financial markets, deepfakes and misinformation, hacking, cyber warfare, data privacy, and more. 

The real threats of AI are already here, lurking in our everyday digital experiences. While tech titans and the media tout a dystopian AI future, they’re drawing our attention away from the AI and related data privacy issues we need to solve right now.
